Radiesse is a filler whose gel adds volume and supports shape. Over time, it also stimulates the formation of collagen and fibres that help skin stay elastic. It contains tiny calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) particles in a gel. Unlike hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers, it cannot be dissolved immediately with an enzyme called hyaluronidase. Its role depends on how much it is diluted, how deeply it is injected and the area treated. It may be used to add volume or to stimulate collagen formation. Thinking of it simply as a “collagen injection” can delay recognition and treatment of lumps called nodules or a blocked blood vessel.
