One-day acne packages in Korea: can one visit finish treatment? Choosing extraction, anti-inflammatory injections and long-term care
Full translation of the Korean article. Translation checked for completeness, numerical consistency and medical meaning; separate medical review of this translation is pending. Translation updated: 2026-10-28.

A one-day acne package may describe the components of care offered in a single visit, but does not mean medical treatment that ends acne in a day. Extraction may be considered for selected comedones and anti-inflammatory injections for certain large inflamed lesions, but neither resolves all recurring new acne and scarring. During a short trip to Seoul, first distinguish the lesions causing the most discomfort now from goals requiring continued care after returning home.
First separate the success criteria for a single visit
During travel, evaluating one painful lesion today, choosing which blocked comedones to treat, and planning treatment for recurring new lesions are different goals. More procedures in a package do not mean that all three goals will be achieved. Distinguishing possible relief of immediate discomfort, disease management requiring several weeks or longer of observation, and scar treatment to consider later can reduce unnecessary additional procedures.
| Current question | What to check at this visit | What one visit cannot guarantee |
|---|---|---|
| I have one large, painful lesion. | Examination to determine whether it is acne or another condition and whether local treatment is appropriate | A guarantee that it completely subsides within a fixed time or leaves no mark |
| I have many comedones and want extraction. | Lesions to treat or defer, and subsequent skincare | A guarantee that extraction alone prevents new acne from recurring |
| I keep getting new acne. | An ongoing treatment plan addressing severity, medication and lifestyle factors | Judging long-term treatment effects within a trip lasting only a few days |
| I also want to remove depressed marks. | Priorities among active inflammation, scars and pigmented marks | Finishing inflammation, pigmentation and scar treatment simultaneously with the same package |
Definitions and how the treatments work
Acne is a condition involving multiple factors, including follicular blockage, sebum and inflammation. Treatment varies with the proportions of comedones, papules, pustules and nodules. Extraction addresses the contents of appropriate lesions, while intralesional steroid injections are used selectively for certain large inflamed lesions. Ongoing treatments such as topical and oral medications have a separate role in reducing new lesions. Not every skin bump is acne; differentiation from folliculitis, perioral dermatitis and other conditions is also necessary.
Potential benefits and limitations
Appropriate local treatment may help pain or some lesions, but cannot promise a cure, no scars or immediately clear skin. The AAD advises that it usually takes several weeks after starting acne treatment to see fewer new lesions. The 2024 guidelines describe combinations tailored to lesions and severity; they do not establish a “one-day package” as completing treatment of the entire disease. Do not judge long-term response from a single photograph before returning home.
Who can seek a consultation and how suitability is assessed
Visitors on a short stay who have large inflamed lesions, recurring acne or questions about extraction should start with an examination. Disclose pregnancy, breastfeeding or plans for pregnancy, medications and allergies, previous treatment and experiences of scarring or pigmentation. Contraindications and testing and follow-up needs differ by medication; do not independently stop existing drugs or directly alter an overseas prescription. If inflammation is severe or scarring risk is high, discuss prioritizing disease treatment over cosmetic care.
Procedure, recovery and scheduling
Consultation checks lesion types and distribution, existing medications and the travel itinerary, then selects only necessary treatments. Obtain written information about the treatment name and areas, medications used and precautions, temporary redness, care of extraction sites during healing, and how to contact the clinic if symptoms worsen. If starting long-term treatment, confirm the expected assessment time and information needed to continue care locally. Overseas dispensing of Korean prescriptions, insurance coverage and online prescription renewals are not guaranteed; assessment by a local clinician after returning home may be needed.

Side effects, contraindications and symptoms requiring medical attention
After extraction, pain, bleeding, worsening inflammation, infection, pigmentation and scarring may occur; anti-inflammatory injections may cause local depressions, skin atrophy and color changes. These injections are not preventive care to repeat on every lesion. Medication-related irritation, allergy, pregnancy risks and testing or follow-up needs vary by drug. Do not extract suspected infected areas yourself. Rapidly spreading redness or swelling, severe pain, fever, symptoms around the eyes or systemic allergic reactions require prompt medical care.
How to distinguish care components from disease treatment
| Category | Role and goals | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Selective extraction | Local treatment of comedones and other lesions selected by examination | It does not replace prevention of new lesions or treatment of all inflammation. |
| Intralesional anti-inflammatory injections | Local treatment of selected large inflamed lesions | Check indications and risks such as depressions and atrophy. |
| Ongoing medication and disease management | Treatment tailored to recurrent lesions and severity | Confirm the assessment period, pregnancy-related restrictions and care after returning home. |
| Consultation for separate concerns with Juvelook, Silky Pore and other programs | Distinct goals such as pores, skin texture and scars | Do not interpret these as procedures that end active acne in a day. |
Questions and answers for a medical consultation
These consultation questions were compiled from the literature and do not represent a clinician interview or an individual prescription. Clinical review of the new article has not yet been completed.
Q. Is a one-day package more effective if it contains many procedures?
A. Suitability for current lesions and goals matters more than procedure count. Check the items offered, the need for each, whether any can be deferred and the total cost; do not assume you need every item at once.
Q. Can I have only extraction on this trip and discuss medication after returning home?
A. That depends on inflammation, scarring risk and other factors. First have an examination to determine whether local treatment is sufficient, and discuss the limitations of postponing ongoing treatment and a plan for local medical care.
Q. Can acne and scars be treated together during my trip?
A. Active inflammation and scars involve different goals. Clinicians must assess whether to combine treatment, its order and recovery burden; bundling every procedure into a short stay is not always suitable.
Consultation with the SEOLREIM clinic director and signature programs
SEOLREIM Clinic states its principles of physician-led consultations and procedures, genuine products, accurate quantities and attentive care. Consultation starts by distinguishing skin condition and goals, then checking the products and devices actually available, approved indications, dose or energy plans, recovery and risks. SEOLREIM’s Silky Pore is discussed in the context of assessing suitability for separate concerns such as pores and skin texture; it is not presented as replacing diagnosis of inflammatory acne or necessary medication. Baby Collagen is also not a program promising a one-day acne cure.
Booking, languages, location and guidance for international visitors
When international clients compare acne treatment Korea, check whether medical assessment, extraction, medication and aftercare instructions are each included rather than relying on a one-day product name. SEOLREIM’s actual same-day offerings, available appointment times and total quotation require individual confirmation; do not assume it offers another clinic’s package unchanged. SEOLREIM Clinic is on the 11th floor of the Gangnam8258 Building, approximately 1 minute from exit 3 of Gangnam Station. Book through the website’s KakaoTalk consultation, Naver booking or telephone channels. International visitors comparing dermatology clinics in Gangnam, Seoul, near Gangnam Station or elsewhere in Korea should prepare information on medications, allergies, recent procedures and departure dates. When booking, state your preferred language, such as Japanese, Chinese, Arabic, Mongolian or Indonesian, and whether interpretation is needed, and confirm the actual scope and cost of support. Continuous consultation availability in each language and same-day procedures cannot be guaranteed. During consultation, also agree on how to contact the clinic about adverse reactions after returning home and the follow-up schedule.
