Hello. I am Dr. Jungha Kang, Dr. Seolreim.

Last year's most talked-about drama was undoubtedly Lovely Runner (hereafter referred to by its Korean abbreviation, Seon-eop-twi). Song Geon-hee, who played Kim Tae-sung in the series, recently appeared on MBC's Hangout with Yoo, showing flawless-looking skin without a visible pore. Haha was full of praise for his appearance: ‘Seeing him in person, his looks are unreal. He's so handsome. His skin has no pores.’

Born in 1997, Song Geon-hee turned 28 this year and is known for taking diligent care of his skin. With high-resolution cameras and social media now widespread, pore care is becoming increasingly important not only for celebrities but also for the general public. Large pores make skin texture look rough and are one of the main reasons a face can look older. Ordinary cosmetics alone have difficulty reducing pores that have already enlarged.

Many celebrities consult me about this concern, and I recommend programs using procedures such as Allegro laser, Sylfirm laser and Silky Pore injections. In particular, Silky Pore injections immediately reduce pore size and create smooth skin; this is a proprietary procedure available only at our clinic. It was developed from the observation that wounds heal and scars disappear, and is popular with people seeking smooth, clear skin. I recommend at least two to three treatments, and consistent care before pores enlarge is important.

Other dermatologic procedures for pores include the following: Fraxel laser, which promotes skin regeneration and effectively reduces pores; RF, or radiofrequency, procedures, which deliver heat deep into the skin to stimulate collagen production; and chemical peels, which remove the stratum corneum to clean pores and smooth skin texture.

At Seolreim Clinic, we aim to be your personal skin doctor through one-to-one customized consultations and procedures. Because complete improvement is difficult with pore treatment, lifestyle improvements must accompany the various dermatologic procedures.
